In creating this Boss, the most memorable and iconic element was the shields that the Hoplites carry. So I made sure to use the original textures and shape to get as close as possible to what was in the original version of Demon's souls.
With the addition of a fantastic Subsurface (jelly like) material, and nifty floor slime trail, (Not to mention and amazing environment, vfx and lighting.)
I feel the team brought this boss encounter up to standards that todays audience can respect and marvel at.
